Get to Know Your Customers…

How well do you know your customers?  Practically every marketer, coach or sales expert will tell you that getting to know your customers is the most important foundation for building a successful real estate career.   An article I read recent;y stated that technology has stolen that ‘personal touch’ out of so many things in our lives.  It occured to me that thi salso applies to the way we deal with our clients.  By adding a personal approach when talking to, dealing with or working for your real estate clients, you will cement relationships and gain an edge over your competition.  Your clients will love it, too!

  • Start with small steps – make it simple for your clients to reach you.  They’ll appreciate your attentiveness to their needs.  With so many automated voicemails and button-pushing ot get to the right person, it’s just a wonderful change sometimes to just reach the person you have on speed dial and speak with a real, live person.
  • Check in with each of your listings on Sunday evening to give them feedback and update them on your marekting activities for their homes.  Or, once you know how your clients want to be comincated with, send them a weekly marketing report with a follow up call at their convenience. Keeping it real is important.
  • As you know, reasearch shows that over 80% of an agent’s business comes from repeat customers and referrals, forming great relationships with a personal touch will benefit yoru future business.  It also creates friendships.  Personal attention is almost a rare luxury today and is greatly appreciated.
